NORTH LAUREL JAGUARS

“Beating Auburn is more important than winning the national championship….”

--Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant (Alabama)

People around Coach Bryant thought he was a little bit crazy when he made that comment a long time ago. But the people that follow Auburn University football and Alabama football fully understand what he meant. When you play the rival team. It is always the most important game you’ll ever play.

You can win one game, lose the rest of them, and still consider it a positive season if you beat your rival. It’s been like that here in Laurel County for a long time. In all sports. The last game of the year…against North Laurel…at the Gilliam...is a situation that just. Does. Not. Get. Any. More Exciting…

The “Jaguars” come into the game with the record of 3 and 5. The Cardinals are 6-2.  But you can throw it all out the window. What matters is who goes 1-0 Friday night.

You won’t want to miss this. Make plans to get there early because it’s gonna be a huge crowd. It’s the ”thrill of victory” or the “agony of defeat” and it will last for the next 365 days.
