I can’t help it.… I’m still boiling mad over last week.… Losing the crosstown rival game to North Laurel just does not sit well with me.

I feel the same way Coach Summerall. I’m right there with you. This is not what South Laurel football is gonna be about! It’s important to our fans, our sponsors, and all the folks that believe in South Laurel football, that we win games at home and especially against our crosstown rival. It’s not OK that it’s close. It’s not OK that we had five turnovers and fell apart in the fourth quarter. It’s not OK that we lost that game!… We will get it right.… I promise you.…
PART TWO
It’s playoff time. The regular season is over, and all thats left is the playoffs. We travel to Madison South for our first round playoff game on Friday night, 7:30 kickoff. It’s a repeat of a first round playoff game from 2024. A game that we started slowly, turned the ball over, and ended up in a hole too deep to dig out of.
Madison Southern is a good football team. Senior dominated, with a very strong running game spearheaded by a very fast and shifty ball carrier. They’re big upfront and come off the ball hard. They create a lot of havoc on defense by blitzing and playing a lot of man for man coverage. All these things present great challenges for us. But, it’s time that we pick our play up a level. We’re not a young team anymore, we’ve played together for a full season. It’s time to pick it up. We need to travel to Madison Southern, and establish our will on the Eagles.
Make plans to go with us. Should be a great night for the first round of the 5A Kentucky State playoffs. Go Cards!
