SPRING FOOTBALL PRACTICE

The biggest event for a football program during the off-season, is Spring Practice.  Spring Football Practice is essential to any program that is serious about success in the fall.

Football is the most “regulated” sport of them all.  There are only certain times you can practice, and certain lengths.  There are also regulations on what gear you can wear for practice.  Along with the summer “Dead Period,” this makes Spring Football Practice a very important part of every team.

The KHSAA allows high schools in Kentucky to have a maximum of 10 practice sessions, during a 3-week window in the spring.  None of this is mandatory, and some schools don’t conduct Spring Football Practice.  Also, some schools don’t win much……  Our 3-week window opened on April 14th, and closes on May 2nd.  We plan to have 10 sessions during that time.  We have some flexibility, in case of bad weather, to move the sessions around.  Our last practice, session 10, will be the annual Black/Red Intra-Squad Game.  That is scheduled for May 2nd.  We will be on the field by 4:15, and play will get underway by 4:45.

Come on out and check out #Team56.  (This is the 56th varsity football team in history, including the teams of the originally Laurel County High School.)
