Mini-Camp

With the completion of Spring Practice, the Cardinals are putting the finishing touches on a very fine “Off-Season.” The annual Black vs. Red Game ended early (thanks to the thunder storms) in a scoreless tie.  That means the Defense is ahead of the Offense at the close of spring practice.  That is not uncommon though.  We fully expect the Offense to be fine tuned come August.  Much has been accomplished this “Off-Season.”  It started with the winter training program, spring testing and max outs, spring football practice, continuing in the weight room while implementing some Speed Training, and finally finishing the school year.

As we all know, the school year ended pre-maturely because of the devastation of the tornado.  Prayers go out to those who were affected.  It was great to see our team get out there and be a helping hand to the community during this time.  The recovery will continue for some time with electricity out, and homes destroyed, but the spirit of the people is not destroyed.  God Bless the people of London.  They are a tough group.

Mini-Camp gets rolling in June as workouts will continue, along with added times of football skill work on the field in shorts and helmets.  We are less than 100 days away from football Cardinal fans!  Let’s get ready.  Here’s our challenge to you…. We want all of you Cardinal fans to be at EVERY GAME!!  We need your support.  Make plans now to be at Gilliam Stadium, and also go on the road with us this fall.  I promise you will enjoy “following” this team.  It is the 56th team in the history of Laurel County (now South Laurel) High School.  #Team56
