Training Camp Practice
As the calendar rolls over into Dead Period for the summer of 2026, it becomes a time to turn your focus on summer “Training Camp.” As in the NFL, Mini-Camp concludes in early June, and the summer break takes precedence. At the close of July, all football teams roll into “Training Camp.”
In the good old days of the NFL, teams would travel off to a small college somewhere near their home, stay in the dorms, and practice multiple times a day. That was “Training Camp.” Two-a-day practices are almost obsolete anymore in football at all levels. However, the Cardinals will jump into summer practice with one long practice with a break in the middle. It’s an opportunity to start seriously training the team to prepare for the 2026 football season. “Training Camp is the time that truly shows what your football team is gonna be like when the season gets started. We have had a really good “Off-Season Program.” Spring Practice was very promising. Speed Training, and now ”Mini-Camp,” have come and gone. The next step is simply practice and get ready for the season.
