WAYNE COUNTY CARDINALS

 The Cards are off to a 3–1 start.  The win over Whitley County last week, was the first win at Whitley County since 2006. And now it’s on the next opponent. The Cardinals.… 

The “Cardinals” of Wayne County will come to Gilliam Stadium Friday night for a very special contest. They’re all special, but it’s a little extra excitement added to it when it’s Homecoming Night, and we are playing the “Cardinals!”  Homecoming night is a special time for all former players to come back and be a part of the festivities. If you’re a former South Laurel “Cardinal,” or an old Laurel County ”Cardinal,” we want to see you at The Gilliam on Friday night.  Even if you’ve not been back to a game since you graduated, make plans to come on out. Anybody that ever graduated from South Laurel High is certainly invited to the special event. 

Oh yeah, there will also be a football game. “Cardinals” against the ”Cardinals.”. The Cardinals from Wayne County come in to take on the Cardinals from South Laurel. Wayne County is a strong team, that is very well coached. They are a quarterback driven offense with a QB that runs and passes extremely well. They are always a very tough physical hard-nosed defense that will get after you all night long. The Cardinals from the South Side are looking forward to the challenge. Wear all your Cardinal red and make plans to come out early. We’ll sell you the whole seat, but you’ll only need the edge!
