Week 1 - Somerset

Welcome to football 2025! All the preliminaries are over. The Off-Season is complete. Spring Practice is finished. Speed Training has concluded. Summer Workouts have been performed. And Training Camp is fast becoming a memory. It’s football time at South Laurel High!

The season opener is a special night. Everybody’s undefeated going into week one. The Cards travel to Somerset to play in the Alton Blakley Bowl, on Saturday night. Kick off is at 8 pm. What an opportunity. Big game right off the bat. Somerset is one of the most storied programs in the state. They have had football, and good football for over 100 years. We are only in year 56 at ‘Cardinal High!  

This weekend is an opportunity for our program to show we can play at the level that the big boys live at. It’s a step to climb the ladder. Come and be with us at Clark Field in Somerset on Saturday night. We need all the screaming Cardinal fans we can bring. It’s a special night, special opportunity, for a special team….. #Team56
