LONDON TOURISM & PARKS SOUTH LAUREL BOWL
“Bowl” games are always a special night. Usually early in the football season, the bowl games bring a special atmosphere and electricity to an early game. It’s gonna be a great opportunity for all of our fans to come out to Gilliam Stadium, and check out this year‘s version of the Cardinals. #Team57 will play the second game of the night, against the Somerset “Briar Jumpers.”
The Cardinals are off to a good start, having won their first game against 6A Lexington powerhouse, Paul Lawrence Dunbar. The win gave the young Cardinals a lot of confidence, and set them on the path for steady improvement. Week two of the season is here!!!! The opponent, the “Briar Jumpers” from Somerset. Somerset beat Wayne County 42-7 in their first game of the season this past weekend.
The Young Cardinals are looking to continue to improve, as we take on one of the traditional power houses of South Central Kentucky. Come on out and join in the fun. The first game of the doubleheader will see former South Laurel coach, Donnie Burdine, and his East Ridge ”Eagles,” taking on the Clay County ”Tigers.”
